Columbia MO – Greg Deline a leading financial expert is advising clients to sign up quickly to take advantage of Missouri Tax Credit Fundraiser. Any donation to Phoenix Programs may qualify for up to 55 percent of the donation amount as a tax credit on your Missouri tax return, in addition to the federal charitable contribution tax deduction. The credit is only available until June 30, 2018, so eligible donors should act now.
The credit, known as the Affordable Housing Assistance Program (AHAP) Tax Credit, is offered by the Missouri Housing Development Commission to Missouri businesses and/or individuals as an incentive to contribute to affordable housing production. Currently, Phoenix Programs has more than $187,000 available through this credit.
The tax credit is transferable and can be carried forward for 10 years. Eligible donors can receive the credit by making a donation to a nonprofit organization that provides housing assistance activities.
Phoenix Programs serve individuals and their families who seek support and recovery from alcohol or drug addiction. This year’s funds will be spread over three specific areas: 1) Remodel existing space to add 10 beds in the residential center, 2) Add four opioid crisis beds, 3) put new siding on the building. Your generous contributions will have tremendous impact on our local community.
