“Party Tun Up” is the unique combination of different music, cultures and global experiences mashed up into this one song. From its one-drop reggae bass line, its pop/hip-hop drum beat, to the island fused vocals from two different Caribbean islands, Jamaica and Trinidad, “Party Tun Up” is an excellent song for any summer collection. With collaboration from one of Jamaica’s most talented young artist, Richie Loop’s warm and upbeat lyrics transplants the listener to a beach party on an island in the Caribbean sun.
Richie’s lyrics offer the listener a sunsoaked, feel-good, beach party vibe while staying extremely creative and avoiding any commonalities. In the second verse, KKay and Tim Starr bring to the song a sense of diversity and lyrical expression the compliments Richie’s performance. Being from two different Caribbean islands plays well for the song since both islands, Jamaica and Trinidad, have many commonalities yet are still very culturally different and relevant. Jamaica being the home of reggae and dancehall and Trinidad is the land of Soca.
