The WCEM is a conference hosted by Monspace. It gathers medical experts from around the world to share their insights on exercise medicine and the importance of an active lifestyle. This year, delegates from more than 35 countries will gather to discuss over 60 topics. The sessions will be open for the public in an effort to promote public health.
Founded in 2016, the MS New Symphony Exercise Clinic is one of the major projects under MONSPACE. Through offering professional medical diagnoses and exercise recommendations, the clinic targets, prevents and mitigates the four most fatal diseases: high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes and high cholesterol. The model has proven successful after its trial period operating within seven health clinics (Klinik Kesihatan) in Malaysia.
In 2017 with the support of the World Health Organisation (WHO), MS New Symphony Clinic held the inaugural WCEM in Pulau Langkawi. Health experts from around the world were invited to highlight the importance of exercise to health.
The WCEM 2018 will be held in September in Melaka. In preparation, MS Symphony Clinic held the first committee meeting for the conference.
This first meeting saw 24 delegates from Malaysia, Singapore, the UK, US, Slovakia, India, and Taiwan, who gathered to discuss issues concerning exercise medicine.
After discussion, the conference decided to focus WCEM 2018 around 6 main topics including cancer prevention, exercise and immunity, exercise and metabolism.
The 2-day meeting ended with committee members proceeding on each of their tasks in preparation for the conference in September.
It is with great honour that Monspace extends this open invitation to all users and members of the public to attend the World Conference on Exercise Medicine (WCEM). The event will be held on 24-26 September 2018, in Melaka, Malaysia.
