SYDNEY, Australia – Designer, Candy Marx, says goodbye to high-end fashion for a more meaningful life. The 35-year-old fashion footwear designer turned towards social entrepreneurship and holistic health after adopting a plant-based diet.
“Wellness, animal welfare, conservation, and humanitarianism have always been important to me, but I had to shift my focus and work towards what I care about.”
The designer-turned-social-entrepreneur rebranded her award-winning fashion label, KeilanaSkye to KSKYE the Label, which is now vegan, philanthropic and uses sustainable methods. KSKYE also raise funds and awareness for several animal welfare and conservation charities and employ artisans from developing countries. The charities involved are International Anti-Poaching Foundation, Rainforest Rescue, Sea Shepherd, and WIRES Wildlife Rescue.
While restructuring her successful brand, Marx began her studies in Nutrition and Master Herbalism, graduating earlier this year.
“After experiencing the countless health benefits of a wholefoods plant-based diet, I knew I had to study plants from a medicinal side, and study the human body and nutrition.”
The soon-to-be-published-author recently launched the platform, Plantfed Mama, a nutritional hub for vegan, vegetarian and plant-based women and mothers.
“As a mother, I noticed that there wasn’t enough information about plant-based pregnancies, from a nutritional side, and that’s why I wrote the book. I delve deep into the nutritional side, as well as the holistic side.”
Marx’s new book, Plantfed Mama: A Holistic Guide to a Vegan Pregnancy, is due for release in early 2019.
