The Academy Award-nominated film Call Me By Your Name, made on a small budget in Crema, Italy, has developed a strong international following. This poignant coming-of-age film of first love, based on the best-selling novel by André Aciman, transcended the LGBT genre and offered life lessons for all.
When Barb Mirell joined a Facebook group devoted to the film in February 2018, there were 2500 members. The Call Me By Your Name Global Facebook Group has since grown to over 15,000 members from over 100 countries.
So touched by the postings of the members, she asked them to submit their stories on how the film affected them. Over 100 people from dozens of countries responded. This book is the result.
When Call Me By Your Name: How a Little Film Touched So Many Lives was published as a Kindle book in July 2018, it hit #1 on the Amazon Film Reference Book Best Sellers List. It is now available in paperback.
