KIALLA, the dynamic Russian-Iranian hip-hop duo founded in 2018, is pleased to announce the release of its debut album, RARE, which is now available for streaming on all major streaming and download platforms, including Spotify, Soundcloud, Apple Music, and more.
The duo is comprised by male vocalist and producer KIA and female vocalist Via. KIA was a longtime member of Iran’s hip hop scene, having collaborated with some of the most prominent Iranian hip-hop artists before releasing his solo EP, F(x), in 2016. Via was one of the first female artists in the Russian hip-hop community, and has participated in various hip-hop battles. After releasing an album with her crew in 2010, Via set out on a journey to travel the world, meet different cultures and expand her artistic perspective.
Since their inception, KIALLA has released 3 singles and an EP, followed by visuals for the Ground Zero and an abstract music video for the track produced by Chicago-based electronic artist, Bengfang (RESET).
RARE is a tour-de-force where KIA and Via fuse their talents to create consistently beautiful and evocative beats that seem to flow seamlessly as one track transitions to the next. In tracks like Lasso, Violla and Ground Zero, Via raps and sings in her native Russian; KIA makes sure that her vocals are at times cushioned or accented by his masterful, sumptuous sounds which are clearly influenced by contemporary electronica.
With RARE, those who have been with KIALLA throughout the past year will soon find that their wait was well-deserved; others who are just now introduced to the ensemble are sure to become lifelong fans.
KIALLA is a part of OUTSET collective that aims to support creators from different cultures and countries.
