Mainstreet Mob, a tech inspired company that creates digital and event marketing solutions is set to launch in Detroit. This new platform allowing small businesses and shoppers to connect through social media and cash mob events will launch on March 10, 2019 at The Commons in celebration of their 1 year Anniversary located at 7900 Mack Ave. Detroit, MI 48214.
The platform is part of larger effort, I Am Mainstreet America, a digital media company that highlights America’s small business entrepreneurs and mobilizes citizens everywhere to champion them.
Today’s small business scenario is about shoestring budgets and many owners feel excluded from mainstream dialogues on Detroit’s revival. Mainstreet Mob has taken up the challenge to change the fortunes of these small business owners by bringing in customers, both online and offline.
Cash Mobs are when groups of people join together to make purchases at local businesses as a show of support. Mob participants who join the online Mainstreet Mob platform, earn points, prizes, rewards and other perks in return for participating.
For businesses, Mainstreet Mob works on the principle of ‘work smart, not hard’, and the mob events are just half of the equation. In addition to these live events, Mainstreet Mob also takes over the social media of each small business during a 90-day campaign. Local shops and businesses can offload their social media marketing work to the team and simply focus on running their business.
The Mainstreet Mob marketing campaign is set up with a few simple steps. The team will learn everything about the business and create a custom brand kit and marketing plan. Next they will create high quality social media content like photographs, videos, graphics and posts. The big event happens next. The Mainstreet Mob shopping event organized for the business will take online customers offline and bring them through the door. A personal account manager will be available for monitoring and relaying relevant reports and updates.
“For a fraction of the cost, Mainstreet Mob will be putting an entire expert team and community of “mobsters”—potential new customers, behind small businesses who otherwise might not have the access,” says Margarita Barry of Mainstreet Mob.
With Mainstreet Mob, small business owners can save 20 hours a week by handing over their social media marketing, and have the option to extend the service even when their Mob event is over. Mainstreet Mob is creating digital and event marketing solutions to reduce gaps and help these underrepresented businesses in Detroit shine through.

About I Am Mainstreet America
I Am Mainstreet America is a social venture that promotes small business entrepreneurship as a means to combat unemployment and boost economic impact in cities. We believe that Small Businesses are the backbone of America’s economy. Our mission is to help revitalize American cities by highlighting small business entrepreneurs and mobilizing citizens everywhere to champion them.
We got our start back in 2009 with I Am Young Detroit, an interactive, hip and vibrant blog that allowed users to nominate the young entrepreneurs that we would profile each month. Then I Am Young America was launched in 2015, hoping to grow on I Am Young Detroit’s early success. We highlighted how teens, 20-somethings and 30-somethings all over the country were making their mark on their cities through entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation.
