30 Georgia girls participate in “She’s Great” Girl Empowerment Day celebration

Atlanta, GA – Thirty girls from the Atlanta area were treated to a special day of learning and empowerment at the “She’s Great” event on February 20th. The event, which was held at the Georgia State Capitol, was hosted by Trinity Girls Network Corporation and The Organization of World Leaders.

The She’s Great event was held in celebration of Girl Empowerment Day. The 30 girls who participated in the event ranged in age from 10 to 18 and were primarily home-schooled or attend the Sound Doctrine Christian Academy in LaGrange.

The program was hosted by Dr. Jacqueline Mohair and Dee Dawkins-Haigler. The event included a greeting from Representatives Pam Stephenson and Billie Mitchell. Throughout the day, attendees heard from powerful women speakers who discussed various aspects of leadership and personal power. Program sessions included the following:

  • Girls in Politics — Dee Dawkins-Haigler, The Organization of World Leaders

  • Entrepreneurship — Ms. Patricia Houston, The Whitney E. Houston Estate
  • Passion Preneuar — Dr. Chanita Foster, Beyond the Game
  • Human Trafficking Awareness — Ms. Shavontana Davis, Star Institute
  • Inner Healing Specialist — Ms.Teresa Thigpen, Ginger Pie,/;]]]] LLC
  • Prayer — Dr. Alfie James — Trinity Girls Network Board

At the day’s awards ceremony, Dr. Mohair presented each speaker with a Georgia Humanitarian Award from Trinity International University of Ambassadors. The awards ceremony also included special awards to a husband and wife team who work with the non-profit Seasons Initiative, which works to help individuals aspire beyond their socially imposed limitations. The couple were nominated by UK based Ghanaian Award winning Gospel artiste Dr. Sonnie Badu. He is the lead Pastor of The Rock Hill Church, Stone Mountain, GA. and Dean for the School of Music TIUA (College of Fine Arts). Dr. Badu stated that it was an honor to nominate a couple thats passionate and have a heart of gold for todays youth. The awards were included during the event to show attendees how hard work and dedication pays off.

Dr. John Erasmus Frimpong received a Doctor of Philosophy, Humane Letters, and an Honorary Professorship in Financial Literacy from Trinity International University of Ambassadors for his hard work and dedication with The Initiative. As well as the LifeTime Achievement Award from President Donald Trump. Dr. Frimpong’s wife, Ms. Adaugo Frimpong, who founded Bodipa Mental Health Counseling, also received the Georgia Humanitarian Award from Trinity International University of Ambassadors for her work with the non-profit.

The girls received a “She’s Great” outstanding achiever certificate for attending the event.

Governor Brian Kemp issued a special proclamation to “celebrate and encourage young women to become the educated leaders of tomorrow.” The Governor also joined attendees for photos.

In honor of the continuation of She’s Great, Trinity Girls will be co-sponsoring the PowerUP Summer Camp 2019 to be held at Gwinnett Tech.
