Speaking on the launch of her new practice, Melanie Reese, the therapist and owner of Integrative Therapy of Nashville, said:
“I was fortunate enough to begin my career at the faith-based, non-profit agency, The Refuge Center for Counseling in 2010. I was able to work with children, adolescents, adults and families with diverse backgrounds and range of concerns. It was here that my love for walking along side women in their struggles and empowering them with a voice was realized. I was introduced to Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and became more involved with Complicated Trauma work. Once I saw the resiliency of the human spirit to transform from such pain, I knew it was my path to continue holding space for others in the healing process. With over 8 years of experience, I made the decision to create Integrative Therapy of Nashville, a practice working with Individuals and Young Adults dealing with Trauma, Women’s Issues & Chronic Pain.
“I have seen first hand how our mind and body are deeply connected and have developed my unique approach to mental health wellness with these things in mind. I use clinically tested and evidence based interventions such as EMDR, Animal Assisted Psychotherapy (AAP) and Trauma Sensitive Yoga. With extensive training in trauma therapy, integrative cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness techniques, I am able to work with individuals to overcome personal obstacles and make lasting changes.
“I’m very excited and honored to be serving the people of Nashville and working alongside the wonderful mental health community that has been cultivated here.”
