Huntington Beach, CA – April 26, 2019 – This is an Autobiography of a Military Chaplain’s three years on active duty plus the brief story of his efforts to get commissioned as a chaplain  It is fast-moving, easy reading, and highly entertaining.

It describes the pressures and strains between personalities that arise when a battalion of engineers is building the largest bridge ever built under actual combat conditions.

Readers have reported finding themselves laughing out loud and possibly shedding a few tears as the stories unfold. They say that what makes this book stand out is the balance of seriousness and humor in the writing. Many of them have told the author they wound up reading it twice.

Beecher describes his counseling endeavors with men, in private and at institutions like a prison or hospital, and a post teenage club. (That should give you a clue.)

Since his discharge from active duty Earl Beecher has raised three children, served eight years in the active Army Reserves, earned his MBA and Doctor’s degrees in business at UCLA, taught full time at California State University Long Beach-33 years, and part time at seven other major schools: UCLA -6 years, UCI- 8 years, CSULA- 3 years, Pepperdine -3 years, Golden State- 2 years, LaVerne- 4 years, and Santa Monica College- 2 semesters. 

He created two Independent Record labels(Outstanding and Morrhythm) and released world-wide over 600 CD’s featuring all styles of music by over 150 artists including Paul Smith, Hollywood’s Favorite Pianist.  He’s produced and hosted over 2000 radio shows (which he continues to do weekly), and over 400 TV shows.

He worked full time in aerospace for 3 years and part time as an Investment counselor for 25 years.  He earned the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter in Insurance and Chartered Financial Analyst.  He wrote “The Money Doctor” syndicated weekly newspaper column for the Knight-Ritter Newspapers (IndependentPress Telegram, Orange County Evening News, Huntington Beach Independent) for three years. He wrote The Orange County Business Journal for 10 yearsand for The  Inland Empire Business Journal sporadically for 15 years. He wrote Security PacificNational Bank’s economic publication The Monthly Summary-2 years. Alsoseveral articles in the Certified Financial Planners Journal, the Mobile Home News, and CSULB’s Perspectives & Outlook.   

He has published articles in Southwest Art, Billboard, Cashbox, The Jazz Times, International Association of Jazz Educators’ Journal,   Leisure Time, Dictum, Atomic Magazine, Psychology Today, Truckers, Trucks, Heavy Duty Trucking, Dawn (The Magazine for the Orange County Woman), plus research papers; and scripts for 11 movies & several TV shows and pilots.
