San Francisco, California – May 21, 2019 – The rising costs associated with obtaining a college education continue to put more underprivileged students out of the running and unable to achieve their educational goals. Despite federal financial aid opportunities, there is typically a relatively high balance remaining for college tuition and related fees each year.
For many students, the only viable option for managing the increasing tuition rates is to apply for additional assistance, often in the form of student loans. Many websites offer access to comprehensive databases that feature grant and scholarship opportunities for a variety of specialized situations or general applicants. These options are preferable to student loans because the funds do not have to be paid back in the future.
The Blake Rubin Trust offers a scholarship opportunity that awards $1,200 to the student who successfully submits a winning essay. The 2019 theme of the essay is quite simple, “Why should you receive this scholarship instead of someone else?” Students who answer this question in about 500 words are eligible for consideration of this substantial scholarship. Students are encouraged to provide information about their personal situation as well as their goals beyond high school and college.
This scholarship opportunity is available to current high school and college students who are working toward their first undergraduate degree. Scholarship application submissions are due by November 1, 2019 and will be reviewed by Mr. Rubin. The winner is expected to be announced and contacted in December 2019. When the winner confirms the receipt of the scholarship, funds will be forwarded to the financial aid office at the school of their choice.
The Blake Rubin Trust believes in the importance of a quality education for the youth in America. The scholarship foundation was created as a way for Mr. Rubin to give back to the community in a meaningful way. His former hardships made paying for his own education difficult and he has generously offered to reduce that hardship for lucky scholarship winners each year. This scholarship opportunity is a widely coveted funding source for further education and students from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply before the November 1, 2019 deadline.
