Eventerprise.com, the leading global events platform, has appointed Birgit Thümecke, an experienced corporate leader, as their new CEO. The appointment is being applauded across the tech industry as appointments of female executives to top positions are rare.
“We are delighted to appoint Birgit Thümecke as our new CEO and even happier to notice that her appointment has been roundly applauded in the tech industry,” says the spokesperson for Eventerprise.com. “Birgit brings a wealth of executive leadership experience, business development, and corporate governance to the role, including tenure as the CEO of Lufthansa’s customer service network. Her outstanding track record of growing distributed organizations, developing revenue streams, and building partnerships will significantly help us achieve our long term objectives and goals.”
There are many women executives within SMEs at operational levels but they are painfully under-represented at the board level, especially within the corporate mainstream.
Birgit has a long string of achievements to her credit. Her commitment and ability to transform the organizations she has worked with has been widely acknowledged and applauded. She is the winner of the Stevie® Award for Women in Business – Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2018 (Business Services).
Birgit believes her customer-centric approach and affinity for strategic collaboration are part of her arsenal that helps her deliver results. Her specialized skills in areas such as performance measurement, change management, and resource optimization has helped her deliver outstanding commercial outcomes.
Birgit looks forward to the challenge ahead with confidence. “As co-founder, I have significant skin in the game and, in my previous role as Chief Growth Officer, I already had oversight of legal, compliance, strategic partnerships, finance, and operations, as well as oversight of stakeholder engagement and investor relations. So, it is a natural step for me to take over the reigns as CEO and scale the platform.”
Birgit had immediate impact by:
- Expanding the company’s globally distributed ‘hubs’
- Overseeing the process of due-diligence in support of the company’s current late seed capital raise
- Leading an investment roadshow and pitching the Eventerprise opportunity to entrepreneurs and angel investors across the US in the Midwest and San Francisco, and Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
- Managing the implementation of accounting systems, tax compliance, and legal status across their international hubs in South Africa, Switzerland, and the US.
With her appointment, she is one of few female executives with the rare skill combination of having led both large corporates and a nascent startup.
Under her able leadership and her commitment to driving innovation through diversity and inclusion, Eventerprise expects to rapidly surpass its goals, set new standards, and raise the bar through great execution.
