May 12, 2019 —— The Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology (Germany) presents its newly developed micro displays in OLED-on-silicon technology at the SID Display Week 2019 (held during May 12-16 in San Jose, CA). 

The new OLED micro display that is especially dedicated to industrial Augmented Reality data glasses. Over the past decade, Fraunhofer FEP has been working on developing applications and display solutions based on the OLED-on-silicon technology, which are predestined for the use in data glasses and HMDs.

This portfolio is now ex by a next generation of OLED micro displays primarily dedicated to the requirements of industrial AR data glasses. In addition to the display parameters, the new OLED micro display features simple driving electronics for easy integration into portable systems.

LetinAR and German OLED micro displays specialist – the Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology have co-designed a joint demonstrator that could enable AR eyewear of the future.
