Columbus, OH – Afra Grill, a fast-casual restaurant, is coming to Columbus, Ohio later this fall and will be located at 1635 Morse Road, Columbus, OH 43229, a newly built and designed restaurant space. Restaurant hours will be from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Afra Grill is being brought to Columbus by Abdirahman Ahmed, also known as Chef Abcos, a serial entrepreneur and educator with a wealth of experience in the food industry gained after leaving the banking and information technology industries. With more than two decades of practical, real-world experience behind it, Afra Grill promises to thrive under his leadership and management potential by offering amazing African contemporary dishes for guests to enjoy far and wide.
“There are three variables for what makes things tick when it comes to food,” remarked Chef Abcos. “It must smell good, look good, and taste good. Afra Grill will blend traditional and contemporary, and something in between Somali traditional and international fusion”
With a record of management of the contemporary or ethnic restaurant in Minneapolis, MN, Chef Abcos still owns his first restaurant establishment, Safari Restaurant and Banquet Hall, a Somali traditional and contemporary restaurant known for its flavor-able goat meat, rice, sambusas, and Ke’ Key.
While the Somali community of Minneapolis largely consisted of people forced to flee their country due to decades of civil war, Safari Restaurant and Banquet Hall allowed them to have a taste of home without leaving the city and at the same time giving Minnesotans an amazing and unique food to enjoy.
The restaurant design was done by Chef Abcos, with space’s architecture and construction completed by Jeanne Cabral and Moe Hassan, respectively.
