Sandwich, MA – April 14, 2015 – Passionate inventor, Matt Desmarais, has announced plans to develop a PiTurret robot to bring to airsoft. In order to finish developing the final prototype and create a user-friendly website, Matt has turned to the crowdfunding community to gather funding. The Kickstarter campaign goal is to raise $5,500 by May 7th, 2015.
This open source project is meant to enhance the airsoft experience with a 6wd robot chassis with a turret. Matt already has the turret done with automatic and manual controls to adhere to user preference. He has been working on it for months and is very excited for the project to be completed. Currently, the Raspberry Pi 2 will have a unique designed PiTurret on top that brings robotics to the next level.
Development of the robot will include the innovatively designed robot and the turret to be controlled by an Xbox controller. The bot itself will come with a sample code and will be extensively tested using RF controls.
Those wishing to make a contribution can do so by visiting the Kickstarter campaign or clicking here. Backers can choose from many exclusive rewards as a “thank you” for the support.
Rewards include a complete DIY kit with the parts included, pistol, battery packs, USB cameras, and much more. The expected delivery date on all products will be September 2015.
Please know this is an “all-or-nothing” campaign, which means if the goal is not met then it can be years before the world can experience a PiTurret robot. Those wanting to show support, but cannot give, can still do so by sharing this on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. The more awareness brought to the campaign the closer Matt gets to reach the goal!
