The Taos School of Music is one of the most venerated music programs in the country, with a history spanning more than a half century. During its 52 seasons, the Taos School of Music has awarded scholarships to countless students of chamber music. The school offers scholarships to all of its students for the eight week summer program led by some of the nation’s most accomplished chamber music performers. These programs have helped more than 700 aspiring musicians hone their skills, learn more about performing and gain a toehold in the world of professional music.
David Rosenberg, a highly respected photographer and former federal administrative judge, has partnered with Taos School of Music to capture images of students and faculty at work. This exciting project will not only present a view of the process of musical education, but it will provide a look at these dedicated professionals working with young artists from the finest conservatories in the country. Once completed these photos will be available as prints and in a coffee table book. The photos for the book will be captured by Rosenberg while the text accompaniment will be crafted by Rosenberg and collaborator Professor Emeritus of Eastern Kentucky University Richard Freed.
A project of this scope requires considerable financial support to succeed. To raise the needed $4,000, David Rosenberg has sponsored a campaign on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo. These funds will be used to acquire photographic equipment that utilizes completely silent technology, travel expenses, and literary creation. In return for supporting this project, backers can receive valuable perks like matted images, acknowledgements in the coffee table book, or signed books.
