Christina has a vision and a plan for helping teenagers all over the country. The project is called “Get Teens Empowered” and the goal is to educate, motivate and encourage the next generation.
“We’re looking to develop educated, dependable, motivated young leaders and innovators to lead us into an exciting future,” says Elmes. “Teens are on the front line of the expansion of our future. We are dedicated to empowering the youth to reach their fullest potential and become powerful and successful adults, people who can make a difference in their communities, country and the world.”
The plan is to run 24 “Get Teens Empowered” events around the country. This is just the first tour; more will come if the project is adequately funded. The program will include motivational speakers, talks about bullying and drug abuse, and talent scouts as well as mentors for young entrepreneurs, opportunities for internships and help with college funding. There will also be contests and prizes.
“Teens will have a chance to join outstanding programs offered by some of the best coaches and mentors in the country,” Elmes says. “We are partnering with some great nonprofit organizations to help make people more aware of the help and support that is already out there.”

The budget for the first “Get Teens Empowered” tour is $120,000. This includes an RV to get from city to city, a video camera to document the program’s efforts, event insurance and security, prizes, advertising and marketing, speaker fees and travel expenses, crew costs, audio/visual equipment rental and legal fees.
In order to generate this capital, Elmes has launched an Indiegogo campaign, which can be viewed at www.indiegogo.com/projects/get-teens-empowered
Donations of any amount are welcome. For $50, backers will receive a “Get Teens Empowered” stress ball, a 25 percent coupon for event tickets, and a “Get Teens Empowered” travel mug.
For a $250 pledge, you get all of the above plus a “Get Teens Empowered” T-shirt and four free event tickets to the city of your choice. Corporate packages are also available.
“We want teens to come together in every major city throughout the nation without focus on creed or color, but to gather in unison for a greater purpose of becoming more self-aware and consciously responsible for their role in society,” says Elmes.
“If teens can be motivated to be more compassionate, kind and aware of their potential, this will breed a whole new generation of leaders.”
