A recently released infographic from ELDZO shows some of the factors that lay into the U.K. Fashion that is taking the world by storm. It is not the first time England has been at the forefront of fashion, and some would say it never left its post as the most fashionable country in the world. However, its latest surge is backed by some well-established names.
One of the largest factors to the boom in the fashion industry across the U.K. Is the notable brands that come from the area. Burberry, Next, TopShop, Supergroup, French Connection, and many others propel buyers to spend good chunks of money for the honor of daunting the namesake of the companies.
And while the interest in clothing has stayed the same, the style of shopping has changed. Just over a full third of UK consumers shop for clothes online. And that number is expected to grow to 60% within the next 18 months.
Sales have continued to make landmark numbers in the past three years. In 2010, over 1.5 billion Pounds was spend on clothing manufactured in the UK. In 2012, over 1.5 million pairs of various footwear were manufactured by Hotter shoes. And this year, the U.K. had a 1.1% rise in consumer spending saw over 7 Billion Pounds spend in July 2013 for apparel, outdoor accessories, and sun cream.
The infographic also points out that more money is spend on clothing in the UK than education, alcoholic, tobacco, and narcotics, or health. And the number appears only to be growing as years pass.
