DALLAS- Outside the Lines, February 15 – March 15, focuses on the fundamentals of art and design: color, form and line. In this vibrant showcase, internationally recognized artists and regional talent including Paul Lorenz, Sal Zagami, Robin Antar, Ron Burkhardt, Durand Seay, Irene Neal, Lara Campiglia, Puneeta Mittal, JoAnn Cox, Lee Ables, He Zhang, Gina Rossi, John and Elli Milan, Carmelo Midili and Marilyn Hargrove join Texas based Artists, Carol Ordemann, Jared Lee, Jean-Paul Khabbaz, Jeff McClung, Michael Broussard, Kay Dalton and Leanne Venier.
With an education in Bauhaus architecture and fine art, Paul Lorenz depicts abstraction in its purest form, geometry. Bridging the principals and immediacy of painting, drawing and sound with the logic and detail of architecture, Paul’s artwork becomes defined by his multi-disciplinary process of expression. “Abstraction is not a style, but a state of mind…a way of thinking about action, time and circumstance, confidence and risk-taking, boldness and subtlety.” Paul exhibits with numerous galleries in the USA and Europe. As a member of Pintura Fresca, an international group of abstract artists, he has exhibited worldwide, with past exhibitions in Australia, Singapore, Austria, England and Sweden. Paul had his first solo exhibition in Europe in 2009 at Galerie Daniel Vignal in Toulouse, France, and was the only US resident to participate in the historic Realites Nouvelles exhibition in Paris in 2012 and 2013.
Artist and architect, Durand Seay, incorporates symbols of balance, serenity and spirituality to transform space into form, while evoking a sense of natural movement and temporal abstraction. His Paintings are inspired by a fascination with structures found in nature; and at times, the work becomes surreal, exploring the subconscious mind through fantastic imagery. With his intuitive character, the art is guided by spontaneity and expresses a sensual and abstracted language.
Irene Neal is one of the first members of the New New Painters, and her work has been seen in numerous solo and group exhibitions at venues worldwide, including The National Galerie, Prague; Museum of Contemporary Art, Palm Beach; Musee du Bas-Saint Laurant Riviere de Lupe, Quebec; Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver; and The National Arts Club, New York. Collections include the Flint Institute of Arts, MI; The National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C.; Planetarium of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Newport Harbor Museum of Art, Greensburg, PA; and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. “I paint with all that I am – that somehow the best of my strengths will become visible to those who stand in front of my art – so they, too, can feel in their soul, the beauty and greatness of this life.”
