In 1978, Grandpa Bill Soffel was running his butcher shop in Stockton, Utah when a German salesman stopped by and sold him his first smoker. He then started making jerky off the hind quarter of the cow and his customers enjoyed the taste so much that they requested it time and time again.
So from there he began making this wonderful jerky! In 1980, we decided to start producing the highest quality jerky under the Thompsons Smokehouse name! Premium steak strips, from premium beef and “the Eye of the Round” cuts were the only acceptable way to make it. Grandpa Bill would always say “If we’re going to make Jerky, let’s make it right!”
Now, with over 40 years of experience, we’re still producing the absolute best quality jerky with a variety of flavors. We have currently Natural, Pepper, BBQ, Teriyaki, and Jalapeno. In store we carry many other items and a few more flavors such as Cajun for those of you who love a spice!
There are zero preservatives and only the highest quality ingredients will keep you coming back for more! They are available in a range of 4 OZ packages and 8 OZ packages, which make the best gifts or snacks! The store serves as a meat processing plant during hunting season, a continual source of beef jerky, along with snacks and drinks for any occasion!
