Marcangelo Benevenga Announces Release of His New Children’s Book With A Message - "Is That a Wolf or a Dog?"
In “Is That a Wolf or a Dog?”, the author is able to teach kids about the values of dog ownership and its responsibilities and training.

Toronto, Canada – May 18, 2020 – There are so many children’s books published every year that are meant to be purely entertaining. It is very refreshing when a new Book for Young People is published that actually is able to convey a message. In this case, it is a message about dog ownership and what it entails.

Marcangelo Benevenga has done a masterful job with his first children’s book. “Is That a Wolf or a Dog” deserves a place on all kid’s bookshelves. It is well-written and has beautiful illustrations. The author has proven himself to be a master wordsmith, as readers comment that they felt as if he was in the room reading to them from his book.

All kids can relate to this book, after all, most kids ask mom and dad if they can have a puppy sometime in their childhood. The main character is a young man named Marc. He loves dogs but has always dreamed of owning a pet wolf. It was something he thought could only happen in fantasy books…until he visited Italy with his family. On the streets of Venice, Marc learns about the rare Czechoslovakian Wolfdog. Marc becomes determined to own this beautiful dog, but there is a problem. Back home in Toronto, there are no Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs. Marc has to import a puppy from Italy, and names her Arya but he quickly learns that she is not like regular dogs.

The book is based on a true story, it is just told from the perspective of a 14-year old Marc. The story parallels a lot of the author’s life dealing with this unique breed of dog. Despite the name and look, Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs are a recognized dog breed. On one of the author’s trips to Italy, he saw these dogs that looked like wolves. The first one he met was in Venice. He was looking for the San Barnaba Church made famous from Indiana Jones the movie. There in the night, was this wolf in the streets! He was baffled as how this dog sat calmly in the streets…

Reader Testimonials tell the story. Take a look at what Jenna, a Verified Reader, has to say, “Easy to read, informative, and inspirational! I absolutely loved this story! It is a great children’s book with a solid moral premise and information on a unique breed of dog. I was extremely excited to read their first story in print. It is a testimony to their bond and all their hard work! The illustrations by Andrea are also very fitting and do well with the tale. I would highly recommend this book to not only children but any dog lover!”
