Rare Set of Three Hand-Painted Miniature Mughal Art Bird Paintings on Offer for First Time in 100 Years

SYDNEY – Jun. 18, 2020 – A rare set of three Hand-Painted Miniature Mughal Art Bird Paintings is now on offer. The set, originating from Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, may exchange hands for US$125,000. This is the latest piece an influential sixth generation family have chosen to part with from their private art collection. The set joins three items released earlier this year by Jonathan Debraux, the private art consultant representing the family: a Handmade Buta Tibetan Shawl, a 19th Century Chinese Qing Dynasty Embroidered Opera Gown and an Ox Bone Dagger from the same Qing Dynasty era.

“Just like their place of origin, Jaipur in Rajasthan, these hand-painted Mughal bird paintings are vibrant in colour. Painted on vintage Jaipur Government stamp paper, they provide stunning colour contrast to their black backgrounds,” said Mr Debraux. “Jaipur, also known as the “Pink City”, is known for its temples, palaces and miniature paintings. Fine art collectors will understand the deep history these miniature paintings hold, as well as recognize the intricate brushwork and detail epitomising their delicacy and precision.”

This fourth piece, with more pieces to be made available by the family throughout 2020 and 2021, are displayed online through a dedicated website. Fine art collectors and astute investors are invited to view the items online. The family will consider exchanging all four rare items to the right collector or investor. Sales enquiries can be made via telephone or email and will be treated with upmost privacy and sensitivity.

“The dedicated website has proved invaluable for interested buyers during the global COVID-19 pandemic. They have been able to peruse the previously-released rare pieces in a discreet and intimate manner,” added Mr Debraux. “Interest in each of these pieces, aged more than 100 years each, has increased significantly during these uncertain times. In particular, experienced travellers, who are not currently travelling for obvious reasons, are seeking to bring diverse culture and history into their homes through the power of art.”
