Established in 2020 as an online hub devoted to providing readers with ethical and sustainable guides to wildlife tourism, Xplore Our Planet has released its latest feature, a detailed look at how members of the public can enter the water and swim with manta rays.
Well-documented as gentle and curious animals, manta ray encounters are high on many traveller’s bucket lists. In their latest wild guide, the Xplore Our Planet team highlights the best locations in the world to swim with manta rays, as well as looking at how to get the most of experiences, what time of year to travel, and how to ensure encounters are ethical and maintain good animal welfare habits.
The wild guide has been launched with a series of supporting blog topics to help educate travellers on the manta ray. These topics cover the biology of manta ray, how safe it is to swim with them, and information about their ecology.
Founder of Xplore Our Planet, James Speyer, commented on the release of this new guide:
“There are lots of great pieces of information out there about manta ray encounters, but it’s rare to find a complete resource that tells you everything you need to know, from how you should behave in the water to where to find the manta rays. This Xplore Our Planet wild guide has been put together as a collective of all the best information available to wildlife tourists. All the need-to-know details are in there, so travellers can start to make the decisions that are right for them.”
Currently exhibiting 10 comprehensive wild guides and numerous other advice articles, Xplore Our Planet is a rapidly expanding centre for content specialised in animal tourism. The latest manta ray guide will be followed by similar resources as the website continues to develop.
