“Engineering the pores in the active filtration layer without compromising the surface area of the fibers that make up the membrane is a difficult but achievable task using electrospinning technology. Our process also allows for the incorporation of antiviral compounds into nanofibers in a single manufacturing step,” stated Dr. Kevin Guo, COO of Matregenix.

Nanofiber based filters provide better filtration performance compared with conventional melt-blown materials at a significantly lighter weight.
