“There are plenty of reasons to like GoodFor,” muses Men’s Health in their annual Best Men’s Underwear list. The brand itself goes so far as to call their boxer-briefs, “the most comfortable in the world,” and boasting nearly a perfect 5.0 rating from customers, they may just be right.
But, according to the company’s founder, the products they sell aren’t the only reason why GoodFor is in business: “First and foremost, we are a community service and customer service company, and of course, yes, we sell amazing underwear you need to try to fully understand – they’ll make you feel like you are wearing cloud 9.”
Before GoodFor sold its first pair of underwear, they donated 10,000 pairs of underwear to local charities like Cradles to Crayons, a non-profit based in Massachusetts that focuses on combating childhood poverty. Underwear is often the most requested (and least donated) item at homeless shelters, and so for each pair of GoodFors purchased, they will donate a pair of brand new, high-quality underwear to someone in need.
“Our goal is to donate 1,000,000 pairs of underwear, but that doesn’t happen without delivering a best-you’ve-ever-had customer experience first,” says GoodFor’s founder. Traditionally, men have purchased multi-packs of underwear from big brands at big box stores, that is, if they buy new underwear at all. A recent survey found that, on average, men keep a pair of underwear for seven years. “Shopping for underwear sucks, so we fixed it. 100% online. Always free shipping and returns. If you don’t absolutely love our product, we will give you your money back and still donate a pair on your behalf. Simple as that. People are at the center of everything we do, and we care a lot about making our customers happy.”
Fortunately for GoodFor, their product, aptly dubbed “The Greater Goods,” seems to do just that. Crafted over years of R&D, in partnership with a 4th-generation family-owned underwear design firm in New York City, The Greater Goods fuse fit, form, and function. Gone are the days of incessant underwear adjustments. Made of Micro Modal, which is sustainably sourced from Austrian beech trees, the fabric is 3x softer than cotton and delivers unmatched technical performance. Moisture wicking, breathable, lightweight, and form-fitting, it almost feels like wearing nothing at all. Other features such as the H-fly, a where-have-you-been-all-my-life type innovation that replaces the standard vertical fly, make it clear that no detail has been overlooked.
Underwear is the first thing you put on each morning, and with GoodFor, it has the power to deliver a daily act of kindness before your first cup of coffee, and all day comfort after that.
