In response, a local Career Coach and Certified Resume Writer has launched a new service to help jobseekers prepare for virtual job interviews.
COVID-19 impacted the hiring process at many companies, both large and small. Companies that were used to conducting in-person interviews changed to a virtual interviewing process, leaving many jobseekers unprepared for the nuances of participating in a remote interview — sometimes with multiple interviewers on the screen.

In August, she launched “Virtual Job Interview Prep,” a mock-interview process to help mid-level and senior candidates learn the strategies necessary for success when participating in virtual interviews.
“From what to wear (pants are a requirement, even if you won’t see them on camera!) to how to position your webcam and light the environment appropriately to how to handle an interview with three or more interviewers conducting the interview simultaneously, this service helps give jobseekers the confidence to succeed in a new type of interview,” Fard said.

A. Yes, that is where our strengths lie. The majority of projects we work on consist of leading professionals with more than 15 years of experience. They are either at the mid-management level and looking to transition to a more senior role or they are C-Level executives looking to expand their horizons.
Q. What according to you, are the common mistakes that people make while writing their resume?
A. This is a great question and it is what everybody wants to know. I will start by saying that resumes have to comply with certain rigid rules. Many nuances need to be considered in Human Resources. I would say that some of the most important things to drop from a resume are the job seeker’s picture, personal information (i.e.: Date of birth, Name of parents, Social Security Number, Driver License Number, etc.), place of birth, immigration status, and pronouns, just to name a few.
