Oct 1, 2020 – NEW YORK CITY, New York – With the fall season officially upon us, and October rapidly approaching, it means we’re almost entering Halloween season. And while the pandemic may have thrown an unforeseen kink, into many of the planned theater releases. It hasn’t stopped indie filmmakers from producing some eye-catching, small budget horror content! Enter director/actor/producer/writer and curator, of Van Pack Productions Vseant Nath. Who’s set to show off two of his scary short films to the world next month. The India-born, Kentucky-raised filmmaker plans to release horror pictures “Nature Crawls” and “Pigs in a Blanket,” just in time for All Hallow’s Eve.
Vseant Nath studied Film Directing from New York Film Academy. He learnt the art of acting, directing, producing, and, most importantly, how to tell an appealing story and now, the executive director of Van Pack Film Production.
He inherited the guardianship and got a chance to listen to many stories filled with humor, kindness, love, and strange twists that helped him creates his own mental world and lost in the spirals of imagination from his grandmother who he called mom before her departure. She inspired him, made him realize to be someone who lives to tell the tale.
“Nature Crawls” follows a young woman, who after waking at 3 am to use the restroom, hops on her phone before going back to bed. During which she comes across an article about a neighbor’s house being burned down. However, the alarming account proves later on to be the least of her worries. “Nature Crawls” clocks in at 3 minutes long, and Vseant is sure to point out that the time at which the film’s star experiences her run-in with terror, is no accident. “Why is 3 am significant? Witching hour? Why is this time considered the peak for supernatural activity?”
Meanwhile, “Pigs in a Blanket” centers on an irate client whose outburst at a plastic surgeon’s office, proves to have dire consequences. Vseant explains, this seven-minute scare-fest will carry underlying themes about the dark side of human interaction, and the repercussions that can follow. “Have you ever been insulted by someone serving you, or by a customer you have serviced? We all have been on both sides… whose side are you on?”
Both shorts currently deep in post-production, will soon be submitted to festivals, but are scheduled to drop online a little before October 31st. However, an official announcement regarding the premiere date is forthcoming. When they debut, you’ll most likely be able to catch them at the official Van Pack Productions channel on YouTube, and Vimeo. So, stay tuned! We make common stories told in an uncommon fashion to make everyday life look special. Join our way as we laugh our way through life…
Believing that it’s not us that hold power to create stories, but the people, nature, and god-like phenomena around us – that singular reason is what keeps us going!
Being in the film industry, I plan to keep going with this phenomenon, producing more stories to display on screens and create my mark on the audience.
