Making these kinds of gains in the ranks is a testament to the school’s continued commitment to the students’ success, thanks to the unique education model offered at DIS, based on a world-class curriculum. Students at DIS graduate with either the French Baccalaureate (FB) or an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma. The school offers three different IB programs: classic, bilingual, and advanced bilingual.
Catherine Levy, Head of School at Dallas International School, says, “These results speak to the student’s determination to succeed in their academic endeavors – despite the paramount challenges that life throws at them. The results are also a testament of the teacher and staff’s resilience and efforts to uphold their integrity as educators. I am proud to see how our staff at Dallas International School does what it takes to provide their students the knowledge and skills that will prepare them for the world ahead.”
Dallas International School is the first international school in the greater Dallas area and one of only nine schools worldwide, to be accredited to offer the Advanced IB Bilingual Diploma. The Advanced IB Bilingual Diploma combines the challenging nature of the classic IB diploma that requires the mastery of both the English and French languages.
Dallas International School believes that advanced linguistics skills developed through IB Diplomas help students throughout their lives. Languages are a lifetime skill. Research shows that students who speak two languages or more have better attention, empathy, and a unique ability to decontextualize language, analyzing them that goes beyond the literal meaning (otherwise known as metalinguistic awareness). This all leads to better school engagement and performance.
