BEIJING – Oct 20, 2020 – The 3rd Belt and Road Seminar on Green Development of Coal Coking Industry kicked off on Saturday in Xiaoyi, a county-level city of Lvliang in north China’s Shanxi Province.
The seminar focuses on advancing industrial upgrading and accelerating the green development of the coal coking industry, attracting experts and enterprise representatives from home and abroad to share their thoughts and insights on energy cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Jointly held by the People’s Government of Lvliang City and China Economic Information Service (CEIS) of Xinhua News Agency, the seminar has been held for the third session this year.

Lvliang has been promoting economic development and ecological civilization and strives to achieve breakthroughs in core technologies in clean and efficient utilization of coal, said Wang Liwei, mayor of the city, adding that the city will improve and adjust the industrial structure.
According to Li Yue, vice president of CEIS, the Belt and Road Seminar on Green Development of Coal Coking Industry has been held for three consecutive years in Xiaoyi, inviting and attracting many experts to provide suggestions for the transformation and development of the coal coking industry.
A report released by CEIS at the seminar shows that Lvliang has three competitive advantages in building 5G energy industry construction base, namely as high industrial concentration, rich application scenarios of the coal coking industry, and the sound foundation of the data industry.

Six projects with a total contract value of about 7.3 billion yuan were signed during the seminar, concerning chemical, energy conservation and environmental protection, and equipment manufacturing industries.
