American music artist Austin Findley has found the perfect accompaniment to turn the upcoming Valentine’s Day into an unforgettable moment amidst the ongoing pandemic. Austin’s new single, ‘Golconda’ is set for release on February 5, 2021, just in time for Valentine’s week. A heady brew of psychedelic rock, dream pop, and Baroque rock, ‘Golconda’ has everything in it for lovers to bring their romance to new and ecstatic highs.
Golconda will surprise fans with its unique storyline, a relationship between two lovers with references to Vampire Masquerade. The single will be released along with a music video and a lyrics video. This production was accomplished by eight people (socially distanced), in eight months and $1,200.
“I sound like a mix of Slowdive, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Sonic Youth, and Pixies. Recently I submitted ‘Golconda’ to American Songwriter Song Competition, and am hoping for the best. I’ve also been working on my Project Heretic before and during the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Austin.
Austin’s music is a mix of psychedelic rock, progressive rock, dream pop, shoegaze, and Madchester. His debut album was ‘Year Of The Knacky’ (2012). Along with music, he also carries digital skills with YouTube channels. With ‘Golconda’ he hopes to garner at least 154M views on YouTube, and once traction occurs on all platforms, a deal with major music labels.
Born in Columbia, MO, in the Midwest, Austin traveled widely in the American countryside while growing up. By fourteen, the musician inside him came out and today, at 23, he is a professional recording artist. Among influences, he counts many artists and sources of inspiration include books, video games, movies, and even news. Austin is also a writer and works on a series of upcoming series of novels he aims to self-publish.
The past few years have been the most happening for Austin with three EPs and seven full-length albums released since 2017. During the Covid period, Austin continues to work hard and create independent music. With the release of a greatest hits album, new albums Lucky Seven and Volcano, and the upcoming project ‘Heretic’ (being crowd-funded on Kickstarter and slated for release on July 23, 2021), Austin has firmly set himself on a new journey.
