Vienna, Austria – When people usually think of the country genre, most people will picture somewhere in America. This is the birthplace of country music, but it’s finding its way out to other enclaves. Think Marc Miner and his new Americana music that comes to us from Austria.
Marc Miner wasn’t always wanting to finally settle down in Austria. There was a time when he was into country rock and living in America. He liked it so much having moved there when he was an adult that he decided to stay. However, he got into illegal gambling and had to move back to Austria.
While Miner may have been extradited, he took his great songwriting with him to formulate an anti-Nashville scene. This is where he wrote his new album. The album release of “Smile When You’re Wasted” by Marc Miner is sure to be a hit. It comes at a time when there are other sounds out there like Hellbound Glory, Sturgill Simpson, Blackberry Smoke, Chris Stapleton, Cody Jinks, and Tyler Childers.
The album definitely takes inspiration from these country-rock legends. Marc Miner has a way of making outlaw country sound great. He also has a heart for the misfits. This is definitely something that he probably procured from his vast life experience and time in prison. He’s lucky to have had a father who could pull strings for him to be able to be free in Vienna. He hasn’t forgotten though the people that the world would deem losers.
One can hear in Marc Miner’s music that he did leave his soul back in America to some extent. He has a crooner voice that constantly makes pop culture references such as to Hannibal. It’s a whiskey and border town bar type of existence, at least from the sounds of his music, that made him love America. He probably can relate to a lot of his experiences of being in America but seeing places that others might not.
Marc Miner has a good attitude to life, beard and all. He shows that the country scene can be wherever you lay your hat down. Marc likes to make sets and has one for Border Town Bar, which can be seen on his Instagram. He makes music videos that really encapsulate the feel of outlaw country.
The songs are all easy to listen to. One would think they’re listening to a very well-established star if they hadn’t known that this was the product of an up and comer. The fresh outlook is what makes his songs so great to listen to. It’s always interesting to hear the lyrics of the country song as much as the melody. People really want to know what the song has to say about life, love, and all the rest.
Marc Miner is blowing up, and one can see that through his new album that he released. He’ll have a lot of hits on his hands soon, so keep a lookout on their local radio.
