There are plenty of platforms and experts out there for people who want to step up their lifestyles. However, the options can be very narrow for people looking to turn over a new leaf from a different upbringing, especially for former Jehovah’s Witness followers. Fortunately, Charlie McCoy understands how difficult the transition can be and created The Grooming Alchemist to help ease others into their next ventures in life.
The Grooming Alchemist is Charlie McCoy’s establishment to create a community where men could find guidance and inspiration for their lifestyle needs. From hair & skincare to fitness, culture, and entrepreneurship, The Grooming Alchemist has its community’s best intentions in mind. Every aspect of the brand is carefully chosen and curated to appeal to everyone looking to step up their game.
Charlie McCoy wanted The Grooming Alchemist to create a lifestyle that could benefit people and their goals. Their mission is to help others unlock the next level in their personal and professional lives. They aim to create content revolving around lifestyle changes that are guaranteed to help men become who they want to be.
Before he created The Grooming Alchemist, McCoy worked for a decade as a Jehovah’s Witness elder and missionary. Growing up with the religion, he felt trapped and often dreamt of going out and building a brand he could be proud to say was his. Eventually, McCoy was able to separate himself from the church to pursue an entrepreneurial career.
The first job he found himself in was L’Oreal’s Kiehl’s, where he worked as a master barber and later brand ambassador. The job was easy as McCoy already had a little experience as a barber as a teenager, but he was able to expand his knowledge in the haircare industry. He would remain with the company for almost half a decade before returning to pursue his entrepreneurial career.
Charlie McCoy started by launching Artisan Barber, a luxury men’s grooming and lifestyle brand found in the Upper East Side of New York City. He would later follow up with a unisex luxury salon in the Lower East Side, Orchard & Ludlow. The salon also functions as an art gallery to provide new and established artists in New York a venue to exhibit their works.
The Grooming Alchemist is a brand that came to light during the onset of the pandemic, along with two other brands relating to Artisan Barber. McCoy was not one to allow anything, not even the pandemic, to ruin his small businesses’ success. He would create Artisan Luxury Brand and Artisan Media Group. The former is a consumer goods company that caters to their clients’ wants and needs using cruelty-free products. Artisan Media Group is a creative marketing agency that produces various content, ranging from video and photography to social media content. The agency is McCoy’s way of channeling everything he learned over the years about business and people into his new passion.
Charlie McCoy is hopeful that his brands will be sought out by people, especially former Jehovah’s Witnesses. He wants to project a message of positivity with his businesses and inspire others to take control of their lives and be aggressive when it comes to their goals.
