Blue skies, fresh powder days spent on the mountain with friends and family. Top it off with a hand-crafted cocktail beside a crackling fireplace, and you’ve experienced the perfect Colorado mountain day. This vibrant, family-focused, and active lifestyle was what first drew Liz Leeds and her family to Vail, Colorado nearly 30 years ago.
Originally from San Diego, California, Liz’s entrepreneurial spirit, and exceptional people skills carried her through an adventure-filled decade as a flight attendant, the creation of a renowned swimwear company, and a successful corporate career with IBM. By the time she had settled down, with her husband and two small children, she had accomplished more career achievements than some experience in a lifetime. But her ambitions were only beginning. While on a sabbatical from her executive management position with IMB, Liz and her family were spending a winter skiing in Vail, Colorado. She was approached with a proposition to put her extensive sales background and extraordinary people skills to work within a luxury real estate firm. Never one to shy away from a challenge or exciting opportunity, Liz dove head-on into her next endeavor.
She saw near-immediate success in this position and quickly fell in love with the real estate industry, and the opportunity to live year-round in Vail that the position afforded their family. She and her husband raised their two children on the mountain, where they attended Vail Mountain School and excelled in skiing. Her son went on to ski competitively and although both children are now in college, they return to their mountain roots whenever possible.
According to Liz, the experience of living in a town like Vail, Colorado is unmatched. From snowy winter days spent skiing the mountain with loved ones, to bike rides and tennis matches on warm summer mornings, there is something for everyone and every season. Even years after leaving behind the hectic, traffic-filled, southern California lifestyle, Liz still marvels at the serenity and bliss she has discovered in the mountains.
“Vail and Aspen are a slice of heaven, here you can find a sense of peace and calm you didn’t know you needed,” Liz says with a smile.
A quick two-hour drive outside of Denver, Vail is the perfect getaway for weekend warriors and a haven for those lucky enough to reside all year long. Just a few hours west, nestled within the glorious Rocky Mountains, Aspen is the top destination for many of Hollywood’s most elite celebrities and is famous for its exceptional skiing, 5-star restaurants, and picturesque views.
Not only does Liz specialize in the buying and selling of luxury homes, she also has experience in the world of commercial real estate as well. Nestled in the trees, just five minutes from Vail Village, Highcliffe Lodge is an extraordinary log home estate that is currently for sale with Liz as a turnkey business.
With custom luxury furnishings and a multitude of guest amenities, Highcliffe Lodge is buzzing all year long. It covers an acre of charming landscaped land and has breathtaking Gore Range views. A few of the amenities include a cinema (themed after a whimsical mine shaft), hot tub, massive fire pit, barbeque, and a stone nature path to the top of the valley to view the aspen groves, ancient boulders, perennial gardens, waterfall, and alpine wildflowers. As a turnkey business opportunity that can be used as a rental property or a personal full-time or part-time home, Highcliffe Lodge is a timeless property and opportunity, shown exclusively through Liz.
3 decades into her career, Liz Leeds is one of the top luxury real estate agents in both Vail and Aspen Colorado and is on a short list of brokers who list homes in both mountain towns. Even all these years later, she has not lost an ounce of her passion for meeting new people and helping families discover the home and lifestyle of their dreams.
A recent partnership with Forbes Global Properties will allow Liz to assist her buyers and sellers with more exposure. An invitation only affiliation, Forbes Global Properties highlights only the most elite and top brokerages, like Slifer Smith & Frampton and Liz, as a partner of Forbes. Through this newfound relationship, Liz has more access than ever for her clients. Her sellers will be able to showcase their luxury properties to a broader audience and her buyers can widen their search for their perfect property.
Liz feels so fortunate to have been able to introduce hundreds of clients to the Colorado mountain lifestyle and to have found them the beautiful properties they now call home. For Liz, the experience of buying or selling the home goes far beyond a one-time transaction. She has developed lifelong friendships with clients and continues to dine, celebrate, and travel with them long after the listing is complete.
“It’s always been about the people, and that was a large reason I got into the industry,” Liz explains.
