PHOENIX – When the schools shut down due to the pandemic, fourteen-year-old Michael Aims asked himself, “How can I help others during this time? One of my favorite teachers has young kids and the idea for entertaining educational children’s books was born.” Called The Amazing Body, the series includes titles like Bobby the Brain, Henry the Heart and Larry the Liver. Aims started working on the first title right away. Today, two titles on The Amazing Body series books are available on Amazon. “I wanted to create books and journals that will keep kids learning and engaged by creating educational content accompanied by activities.”
First, Aims published a book about the human brain geared for young children 4-7 years of age. This beautifully illustrated children’s activity book “Bobby the Brain” received 5 star reviews. “I thought it would be a great idea to write books that are an introduction to anatomy as part of science education,” said Aims. “It seemed interesting to talk about parts of our anatomy and physiology and learn about which organs make the body run and how they function.”
Aims second book in this series is “Henry the Heart.” Both books include simple activities to help the children retain the information. Aims is currently working on the third book. “My next book is about the liver. I titled it “Larry the Liver to keep with the theme.”
Aims’ activity journals, which the author found fun to write, include Journal for Mindful Me and Mindfulness for Boys. Aims published the books on Amazon (KDP). They are available on RadLearningbooks.com as well. The site carries books which build a child’s confidence through knowledge and new skills. Aims plans to publish more Amazing Body books soon. “Keep your eyes open!” he added.
