The first installment by Mitchell’s Motion Picturez and written, directed, produced by Jariz Mitchell, “The ACE of FADEZ,” was initially scheduled to be released on November 27, 2020, but production was put on hold due to COVID-19. The film stars Nikki SooHoo, best known for her roles in “The Lovely Bones,” “Stick It,” and “Bring It On: Fight to the Finish,” and debut actor, Jay Mitchell. The film is the first in a series of installments for Parabelz – The Book of Jariz cinema series.
“The ACE of FADEZ” captures the story of Ace, who returns to his barbering roots as a mobile backpacking barber. When an innocent child falls victim to gun violence, Ace strives to continue keeping him on life support. The stakes are high for the Battle of the Bladez as Ace tries to cover medical expenses, as well as change his life by getting off the streets and establishing his own barbershop.
The film was primarily shot in Huntsville, Alabama, and Los Angeles, California. However, other parts of the movie were also remotely shot in other countries, including China, Venezuela, and Columbia, truly making it a global piece of art, especially at a time when the world needs to unite more than ever. The studio is planning on a theatrical release, as well as collector’s edition DVDs and soundtrack for the full experience.
