Fayetteville, GA, USA – January 12, 2021 – Dr. Wendy Labat, Financial Healer, wants to warn consumers to be vigilant of scam text messages concerning economic impact payments. The IRS is warning people about the latest scheme from fraudsters to steal your financial information. The text message, email or phone calls are as follows: “You have a direct deposit of $600 from COVID-19 TREASURY FUND. Further action is required to accept this payment into your account.”
“People are being targeted, and I want to protect them as much as possible,” says Dr. Labat. She warns that the message links to a fake website mimicking the IRS’s “Get My Payment” tool. Don’t respond to the text or open the link, she says. Instead, take a screenshot and email it to the IRS at firstname.lastname@example.org. Include the date and time you got the text.
Dr. Labat also advises that if you get a letter from the IRS saying you owe taxes, check if there’s a barcode on it. The Service is adding a QR barcode to its CP14 Balance Due Notice. Taxpayers who receive the letter can use their smartphones to scan the QR code to go directly to the IRS’s website for information on resolving the balance due online.
In addition to providing guidance on avoiding scams, Dr. Labat’s new Facebook group, The Financial Cures, includes information about the PPP loans and grant money, The Financial Cures Stimulus Check Strategy, and How to Overcome the 6 Obstacles to Winning the Money Game.
The Financial Cures Stimulus Check Strategy involves distributing the money into different categories as follows:
• 50% toward Debt Reduction
• 25% into Reserves or Savings
• 15% on Proper Protection
• 10% to Treat Yourself
The Financial Cures group also empowers people to “Optimize Your Financial Health.” Daily inspirations, financial tips, and other helpful resources are posted. The Facebook Group is available to join at http://bit.ly/3s6Wo1v.
She has improved the financial lives of many entrepreneurs, business owners, families, and individuals across the US, by empowering them to develop specific strategies to take them from where they are to where they want to be financially.
“Financial strength requires strategies for protection whether you live too long, die too soon, or get sick along the way,” adds Labat, “saving a percentage of your stimulus check provides a sense of security that turns into incredible emotional relief.”
