Cosmose, the offline retail tech platform which predicts and influences how more than one billion people shop, is adding Gordon Toh as its new Chief Revenue Officer and Tony Yu as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Toh joins from Meltwater, the global leader in Media Intelligence where he served as Managing Director of the New Business Acquisition team for Southeast Asia. Prior to that, he played a pivotal role in establishing the Client Success Division for Meltwater Southeast Asia.
He will bring his experience to increase offerings to core customers and accelerate customer acquisition. “I’m extremely privileged to scale the company vision that already is seeing headway of changing the game for retailers and marketers around the world,” he said. “I’m excited to play my part to catalyze the growth, attract top talents in the industry as we amplify not only the best-in-class technology, but also a winning culture.”
Tony Yu, who will begin as Chief Financial Officer, will work on business strategy, corporate governance and position Cosmose AI for future access to the capital markets. He joins from Fosun Group, one of China’s largest privately-held conglomerates, where he was responsible for cross-border M&A, PE, post-investment management throughout China, Europe and America. Yu served as Associate Director at Standard Chartered Bank and Audit at KPMG.
“I have known Miron through my capacity as an investment director of Fosun, during which I’ve learned the industry inside and out,” Yu said. “Fosun invested in a company that also takes advantage of data for retail in China which is now a Nasdaq-listed company. I’m very excited to embark on a new journey with such a talented and enthusiastic team.”
The announcement of Gordon and Tony follows the hiring of Karol Kurach, an engineering world-champion behind the AI of Gmail’s Smart Reply, as Chief Technology Officer.
“I’m proud that Tony and Gordon are joining Cosmose,” Miron Mironiuk, Cosmose Founder & CEO said. “A world-class leadership team of Tony, Gordon, and Karol will position us to execute on our vision of retail 2.0, while growing access to two billion smartphones and 10 million stores across Asia.”
Last year was a monumental year for Cosmose, which completed a $15M Series A round at a $100M+ evaluation in August followed by inking a strategic partnership with ADA (Axiata) to expand to Southeast Asia. The AI company is now expanding its global reach with additional product offerings. Cosmose’s clients are some of the world’s most innovative companies including LVMH, Walmart, Estee Lauder, L’Oreal and Samsung.
