These new products contain NaYREF4 (RE:Yb, Er, Tm, Gd, Mn, Lu) with Yb3+ as sensitizer and Er3+ or Tm3+ as activator and can be applied in various fields including molecular recognition, bioimaging, biosensors, light-responsive drug release, immunoassay, and flow cytometry.

For instance, Oil dispersible upconverting nanoparticles, Core-shell (DNL-B013), are absorbance max 975 nm, emission wavelength 545 nm and 660 nm, brown, viscous gel, with purity: >95.0%. With a hemogeneous material coated, luminous intensity of core-shell upconverting nanoparticles is improved greatly. These nanoparticles can be used for molecular recognition, biosensing, fluorescence imaging, biodetection, photodynamic therapy, and anti-cancer drug photoactivation.
