After years of uncertainty for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, the Supreme Court has protected the DACA program from dismantle and USCIS is following court instruction to receive new applications once again.
Texas immigration law firm, Davis & Associates is assisting current DREAMers in the process of renewing their status and potential DREAMers in submitting a new application with USCIS.
Applicants for DACA must have arrived in the U.S. before they turned 16 and must have lived in the United States since June 15, 2007. Applicants could not have been over the age of 30 before 2012, when the Department of Homeland Security enacted the policy.
All DACA applicants must provide evidence that they were living in the United States at certain times and must also provide proof of High School diploma or GED, confirmation of identity, as well as pass background, fingerprint and other biometric checks.
Current DACA recipients are also able to use Davis & Associates’ services to apply for Advanced Parole. Advanced Parole allows recipients to travel internationally and return to the U.S. without any other government document or visa. Advanced Parole is being granted only in circumstances such as humanitarian purposes, to visit an ill close relative, or for educational or employment purposes.
Garry Davis, Davis & Associates’ founder and lead attorney, predicts that DACA is here to stay under the new administration, “DACA opens doors for people who came or were brought here at a young age to be able to pursue and realize their hopes and dreams for the future without worry about the looming risks of deportation.”
Davis & Associates offers free consultations that allow DREAMers to ask their immigration questions, get professional immigration advice, and understand the next steps in their case. Davis & Associates also offers immigration advice and services to those looking for help with becoming a U.S. citizen, deportation, business immigration, family immigration, and more.
Davis & Associates is a leading immigration law firm in both the Houston & Dallas Metroplex. Their attorneys provide valuable legal counsel for all aspects of immigration law, including deportation defense, writs of habeas corpus and mandamus, family-sponsored immigration, employment-sponsored immigration, investment immigration, employer compliance, temporary visas for work and college, permanent residence, naturalization, consular visa processing, waivers, and appeals.
