In today’s trying economic times, there are business owners who have risen to the challenge to thrive amid the tumultuous circumstances brought about by COVID-19. One such individual is entrepreneur and mother Leasa Franklin, who successfully raised over $11,000 in product sales within three days.
The whole experience started with an online business event on the rising social media app Clubhouse last January 11, 2021. During the event, Leasa got the chance to join business and entrepreneurship icon Grant Cardone during the question and answer portion of the event. Franklin wanted to pick the “Undercover Billionaire” star and business mogul’s brain on possible business funding opportunities.
“[Grant] told me I didn’t need money,” recalls the Kreative Galore founder and owner. “I just needed to put in the effort.” The keynote speaker then presented Leasa with a challenge: to raise $10,000 by-product sales and donations within a week. If she were successful, Grant Cardone would match it with another $10,000 straight from his pocket. There was a lot of skepticism, but Leasa was never the type to back down from a challenge.
Based in North Carolina, Leasa Franklin is a mother of two kids and is currently pregnant with her third. In November 2020, she launched her business Kreative Galore. The e-commerce business offers customized gift items, including apparel, drinkware, houseware, office supplies, baby announcements, and various other products. The company officially came to life after Leasa discovered that she had a passion for creating gift products.
The venture started to stay busy while on bed rest for her pregnancy with her second son. Leasa began by giving some of her products to family and friends. The positive feedback and praise she received from happy recipients fueled her to make it official and start Kreative Galore. Moreover, Leasa wanted to provide additional income for her growing family.
Despite early life struggles, Leasa has always been the type to push forward. It was this trait that prevailed within her when Grant Cardone presented her with his challenge. Determined to bring her passion project to the next level, the CEO and founder of Kreative Galore would end up hitting and surpassing the target. “I was able to raise the money in just three days,” Leasa shared. “In fact, I raised $11,000!” Today, she looks to reinvest what she has raised plus Grant’s cash prize into marketing and branding. She’s also planning to purchase more equipment and hire an accountant, among other things that can help her scale her business.
Leasa’s passion and determination to build Kreative Galore into an e-commerce success has created a ripple effect among her customers and followers. She finds joy in making clients feel special, maintaining that it’s the satisfaction and happiness she witnesses when clients receive their orders that bring her the most fulfillment.
In the next five years, Leasa hopes to create a physical store for Kreative Galore. Her supportive husband has started pitching in to help in operations, while Leasa focuses heavily on product development and business opportunities. The entrepreneur hopes that her business would create a legacy that she can pass on to her children one day.
