Taking up the challenge and venturing into an untrodden path, Maryam Dimson has launched the first culture-inspired fashion brand “Gold Coast Apparel NYC.”

A fresh graduate brimming with excitement and brilliance, Maryam Dimson is the fashion world’s newest face. At only 23 years old and based in New York City, the passionate creative is a graduate from Pace University with a degree in Hotel Hospitality and Tourism Management. 

After her graduation in 2020, the young entrepreneur dove headfirst into an idea that she had been toying with for a while: a clothing center that exhibits the diverse and colorful cultures spread worldwide. So she established Gold Coast Apparel NYC.

“How we came up with the name was that part of our family roots is from Ghana, also known as the ‘Gold Coast,’ hence the first part of our name,” Maryam enthusiastically shares. “We are based out of New York City, and it is a city that showcases the hottest fashion trends and is the melting pot of world culture.”

Driven by the mission to create an affordable, fashion-forward, and sustainable brand that embraces countries and traditions, Gold Coast Apparel NYC is designed to take the fashion world by storm and then some. Introducing a unique twist to their creative process, the up-and-coming company will collect ideas and patterns native to the region or country they intend to feature.

Eager to promote worldwide inclusion through style, Maryam Dimson’s creative vision includes connecting with the locals and sharing internationally a clothing line that draws a poignant link to their history. “Regardless of shape, style, or gender, we want our brand to be for everyone. We want to introduce the world to the beautiful continents of the world and its culture.”

The brand’s tagline, “Influenced by the Culture,” conveys its determination to become a center of stylish cultural representation. As Maryam explains, “We are all influenced by culture, it shapes the world, and it shapes who we are, and people should embrace that.”

Set to launch in September 2021, Gold Coast Apparel NYC promises an immersive and colorful global tour through its clothing racks. Offering this exclusive experience, along with celebrated and unique facts about each highlighted country, Gold Coast Apparel NYC is setting the stage for a new leg of fashion the world has yet to know. 

“The great thing about this concept is that it’s not out there. It’s unique. There are many African-inspired fashions or one certain culture fashion, but I’m putting it out there while educating people about the countries. I am recreating trendy clothing like those sold in Fashion Nova, Boohoo, Pretty Little Thing but with a cultural touch to it.”
