Shenzhen Longer 3D Technology Co., Ltd., a 3D printer company in China, releases two new printers this year. Its large-volume printer, the FDM 3d printer – LK5 PRO, is 90% pre-assembled, which saves customers 50% of their precious time. The other printer it releases is one of the finest resin 3D printers in the market, called the Orange 4K.
Longer was established in June 2014 by two material experts from China. Chaoshi Lao, who has a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Georgia Tech, founded the company, along with co-founder Yi He, who has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Lao went back to China through the Thousand Talents Plan and established the Longer company. The two entrepreneurs started with industrial 3D printers at first, such as the DLP 3D printer, the ceramic 3D printer, and the metal 3D printer. At the end of 2018, they launched the consumer division of FDM 3D printers and LCD 3D printers into the market as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of Alfawise. In 2019, Longer started to push its brand name of 3D printers in the market.
Longer’s new FDM 3d printer-LK5 PRO’s design of diagonal rods that forms a stable triangular structure can effectively reduce vibration for more stable printing. Unlike old printing hotbeds, LK5 Pro uses a lattice glass plate, which has a microporous structure. This feature not only makes the model easier to disassemble but also makes the hotbed flatter, provides better printing effects.
The FDM 3D printer-LK5 PRO also has a Teflon tube, which can withstand high temperatures up to 280℃. Other printers are 250 ℃ in normal. This feature makes the printing durable as it not easily softens. This feature also allows the device to easily feed filaments during printing, which helps improve the printing quality and reduce nozzle clogging.
The FDM 3D printer-LK5 PRO comes with a 4.3-inch full-color touch screen monitor. As a 3D printer without manual knobs and dot-matrix display, users can enjoy using it with ease. It also has an optimized user interface that enables easy operation. Users can also view real-time printing information on the screen.
Backed by a TMC2208 ultra-silent driver, the FDM 3D printer-LK5 PRO demonstrates firm properties as well as low noise. With open-source firmware, users can try their fantastic ideas on the printer by changing the codes.
On the other hand, Longer’s Orange 4K is an ultra-high precision resin 3D printer with a built-in 4K Monochrome screen at 3840 x 2160 resolution, reaching at 10.5µm/31.5µm of subpixel. This feature allows the printer to replicate more details and give a better surface for miniatures.
The Orange 4K is built with dual liner guides for more steady printing and no wobble issues. Thus, this ensures it will provide better results and a smoother surface on models. It’s also integrated with matrix UV LED arrays. Its parallel UV LED lighting sources provide better uniformity, higher intensity, and shorter time of curing.
The Orange 4K also delivers final 3D models with ultra-smooth surfaces and ultra-fine details because the algorithm embedded in Longerware controls the UV exposure through each subpixel. The Orange 4K is compatible with ChiTuBox too. ChiTuBox is software made for slicing. It’s ideal for LCD resin-based 3D printers.
The Orange 4K also includes a temperature detection system. This means that the system will stop printing when the temperature is too high. It’s also equipped with a high-efficiency cooling system to improve its lifespan.
