Recently Pool Marketing CEO – Joe Trusty announced that he would now be wearing a second hat. In addition to running the pool industries leading marketing agency, he would also function as Editor-in-Chief of Pool Magazine. Pool Magazine is a news publication that Trusty launched in 2020 and has been focused on building up as one of the pool industries leading news sources.
Trusty has a long history in the pool industry. Having first got his start with Premier Pools & Spas where he ran Marketing & Technology. While there, he helped them triple in size in as many years into one of the world’s largest pool builder franchises. He is now focused on bringing Pool Magazine into the forefront of the swimming pool industry.

Pool Magazine shares the publication space with other well known industry trade publications such as Pool & Spa News, Aqua Magazine, PoolPro Mag, and Luxury Pools + Outdoor Living. He’s confident that Pool Magazine is in good company and will be rapidly embraced.
Already Trusty has been interviewing some of the pool industries leading and most respected thought leaders. The publication has been well received by the industry and is starting to quickly gain momentum. Recently Pool Magazine was approved by Google News and is taking every step to be taken as a serious and credible news source.
Long term industry writer Marcus Packer joined the staff of Pool Magazine from the outset last year as Associate Editor. Previous journalism experience entailed writing for Newsweek Magazine and Florida Travel + Life. Packer is also a pool industry veteran, having owned and operated his own construction business for over fifteen years.
Trusty said that he seeks to differentiate Pool Magazine from other industry publications that are more focused on B2B and industry trade. He envisions Pool Magazine as a centralized hub for both obtaining the most current and up to the minute pool news, as well as catering to consumers – namely homeowners with an interest in swimming pools.
Future projects related to Pool Magazine entail releasing an app for Apple & Google. Trusty’s development team at Pool Marketing will be focused on getting that completed. He plans to have it finalized in preparation for his firms arrival this year at the International Pool & Spa Expo in Dallas. Trusty’s firm Pool Marketing will be exhibiting Pool Magazine to those in attendance.
“My plan is to print and release a pilot version of the magazine and distribute it to the entire pool industry at the event” said Trusty.
As an entrepreneur with decades of experience developing high traffic web properties, Trusty has great faith in his new publication. Consequently, he predicts that the coming years will see Pool Magazine eventually grow to a monthly printed industry publication.
Although a web-based publication for now, Trusty has already received numerous offers from parties who have expressed interest in purchasing Pool Magazine outright. “We know we’re onto a good thing. There has been serious interest from private equity firms but we’re just getting started and have no intention of selling anytime soon. It’s a good sign though. We’re creating great content and focused on building the brand” said Trusty.
