STRAT Advertising has been making quite a name for themselves in the literary world of late, so we sat down with a member of their team to learn a little more about them.
Firstly, what’s behind their name and why did they get into business in the first place?
“Good question, we get asked that one all the time! It’s short for Strategic Advertising and it’s really just our philosophy in two short words. What we dreamed of doing was creating a new way for authors from all corners of the world to take their work to a wider audience. It’s about giving them a voice in a crowded marketplace, a presence on social media and a platform they can then use to grow an audience and achieve the sales their hard work deserves. In the era of self publishing we believe this is more important than it’s ever been because of the sheer volume of new content that’s being released every single day. While it’s great for readers, for authors it’s becoming increasingly difficult to stand out from the crowd without the help of a major international publisher.”
Interesting, so what has the reception been like so far, and can they see themselves continuing in this exciting niche?
“We love books, new ideas and connecting with new authors, so we won’t be going anywhere soon. We started small and are making it big, and that’s exactly the kind of journey that we want our clients to embark on too. For us, it’s all about giving them a way to amplify their voice and put their head above the crowd so that the readers of the world know who they are, what they’ve written and what their work has to offer. The results have been very pleasing so far, and we’ve already signed up dozens of authors this month alone. We help with everything from movie trailers and press releases, to social content and outreach pieces. We think of ourselves as the best friend every author needs, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
And what does the future hold for the team at STRAT, are they excited?
“We couldn’t be more excited about where things are going, and we’re determined to just keep doing what we’re doing to the best of our ability. By working with up and coming authors as they really get to grips with their craft and build their audiences, we have the pleasure of seeing some of the next great literary careers take off and flourish. It’s something we love to do and something that we would love to have more authors and creatives get onboard with.”
