Emily is quite excited because, together with her parents, she is going on her first trip to Africa. During this exciting holiday, she sees a lot of big wild animals and is falling in love with the wonderful African nature. The huge animals fascinate her and she is always keen to learn more. But then, something happens. It’s a small accident with a big consequence. In the end, the whole family learns that not only the large and/or really beautiful animals can easily find a way into a person’s heart. Emily learns a lot more, and takes young readers along with her, on a wonderful adventure with a happy end.
Children will love the entertaining story “Emily and The Little Warthogs” by Daria Zuri. The book can either be enjoyed by young, independent readers or listened to while an adult reads the story out loud (also ideal as a good night story just before bed – as the story is entertaining and exciting, but not so exciting that it would keep children from falling asleep!). In addition to being entertained, children will also learn a few interesting facts about nature, Namibia and animals in safari parks. The author, born in 1968, lives and works in Germany. Her heart, however, belongs to Namibia, where she runs a small lodge close to the Etosha Nationalpark with her husband and a few employes. Her love for African nature and animals inspired her to write this lovely tale for children.
