Thailand’s international logistics and trade industry has been one of the most prominent sectors boosting Thailand’s economic growth. Thailand has benefited from its strategic location situated in the heart of Southeast Asia bordering key economic countries. The event aims to gather knowledgeable and experienced keynote speakers from many countries who will share their knowledge, updated information on the current trade situation and future trends in the logistics sectors.

DITP Director-General Somdet Susomboon said that the department had carried out activities in line with the policies announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce (Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit) in order to ensure that business owners possess the ability to compete in the market, especially during the spread of the COVID-19 virus, while also developing the capabilities of logistics service providers. Therefore, DITP is hosting “Symposium 2021” for experts in the industry to discuss issues about logistics and international trade. During the event, participants will gain information and knowledge about the current trade situation and future trends in the logistics sector from world-renowned experts in logistics and supply chains to enhance their understanding about the importance of digital technology in developing logistics operations.

This year, the trade logistics symposium will be held under the theme “Digital Logistics: The Answer to the Future” which will highlight the important role of digital logistics in driving the logistics sector and ways for businesses to handle new challenges, especially the growth of e-commerce, the changes in consumer behavior, the impact of COVID-19, and the role of Blockchain technology which has the potential to transform the logistics industry.
