The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, revealed that the outcome of the TILOG Virtual Exhibition 2021 held from 25 – 27 August 2021 on www.tilog-ve.com was beyond expectation as there were over 24,000 participants which generated over 1,249 million baht of trade value.
DITP has implemented the policies of the Deputy Prime Miniter and Minister of Commerce (Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit) which address fostering ability in marketing for the service sector including the logistics service industry. Accordingly, the TILOG Virtual Exhibition 2021 was held previously during 25 – 27 August. The exhibition was also the first-ever and the biggest one held within the region of ASEAN.
81 Thai logistics service providers were attending the event and there were over 40 corporations of buyers, importers, and foreign logistics service providers, for example, Myanmar, Laos, Singapore, Japan, China, India, etc., who participated in trade negotiations providing trade opportunities, bridging trade networks for Thai logistics service providers, and contributing over-expected trade value of over 1,249 million baht. During the 3 days of the event, 24,000 participants were joining the virtual exhibition from various countries around the world.
One of the examples of success was that a Naha Port’s entrepreneur, Okinawa, Japan, was interested in connecting the trade network with Thai logistics service providers and said that it was the first time to get to know and expand trade opportunities with Thai logistics service providers which included not only the negotiation to expand the number of imports and exports between Thailand and Okinawa in the future, but also using Naha Port as distributing hub to other ports in other regions of Japan and also the US west coast.
Apart from abovemetioned, DITP also held “Trade Logistics Symposium 2021” under the concept of Digital Logistics: The Answer to the Future between 26 – 27 August 2021 paralleling with the Virtual Exhibition. Over 1,600 participants attended the sessions led by world-leading speakers, for example, Mr. Jan Hoffmann – Chief, Trade Logistics Branch at UNCTAD, Mr. Herbert Vongpusanachai, Managing Director, Thailand and Head of Indochina of DHL Express, Mr. Chong Kok Keong, the CEO of GeTs Asia Pte. Ltd, a leading platform in Singapore, Ms. Asaree Srisongkram, Deputy Managing Director of V. Cargo Co., Ltd., the winner of Excellent Logistics Management Award 2020, Mr. Tanate Piriyothinkul, Chief Commercial Officer of JWD Info Logistics PLC, and Mr. Piset Rittapirom, Cluster Manager of Sealand A Maersk, Thailand.
