Hangzhou Asian Games organizers awarded for digital reform

The Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee received a first prize award at the final of the 2021 Global Internet Competition of “Straight to Wuzhen” for its 5G-driven smart sports venues on Sept 26.

The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 is an important scenario for digital reform in Zhejiang, with “intelligent” being one of its guiding visions.

HAGOC has applied 5G, artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain, and other cutting-edge technologies to sports venue operation, sports event organization, as well as daily services.

The organizing committee’s entry epitomizes an “intelligent” Hangzhou Asian Games.

Huanglong Sports Center, Fuyang Water Sports Center, and China Hangzhou Esports Center have been upgraded into smart sports venue with more efficient operation and management, as well as smart monitoring.

From the Asian Games Village to the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Venue Cluster, athletes will be able to enjoy services enabled by 5G, including autonomous driving, as well as augmented reality navigation and guides.

HAGOC will also employ 5G-enabled free viewing angles, bullet-time photography, and naked-eye 3D LED screens, ultra high definition video, and virtual reality technologies to offer the audience a better experience.

The 2021 Global Internet Competition of “Straight to Wuzhen” is an important part of the just finished 2021 World Internet Conference (WIC) Wuzhen Summit, which was held in Wuzhen, a famous water town in East China’s Zhejiang province, from Sept 26 to 28.
