Finding childcare can be a nightmare: super expensive, long waitlists, inconvenient, and that doesn’t account for living through a pandemic. This past year has created additional difficulties for families trying to balance work with raising children who are now at home every hour of every day. Trying to get tasks done with constant interruptions from little ones. Feeling stretched in too many directions and guilty for not being able to give 100% to any of them. Not getting enough relaxation time, sleep, or support.
We started Caribou to be that support, a lifeline in a sea of uncertainty and isolation. But our mission is more than just to provide high-quality childcare that’s easy to set up and actually affordable. It’s to create a community. Because we know that no matter what the world throws at us, families are anchors. And when those anchors join forces, no parent or child ever needs to feel alone and adrift again.
We’ve made getting started with Caribou super easy, all one has to do is fill out a quick multiple-choice form answering basic questions. After a user fills out the form, the family will get matched with a local stay-at-home mom who fits the preferences, and then have the opportunity to meet them.
Caribou is truly unique in the approach and their mission. When one uses Caribou, local stay-at-home parents in the community are supported and children build lifelong friends. Unlike other services, Caribou’s childcare providers are local moms who have years of professional experience in the childcare space, on top of parenting their own kids. So these aren’t typical babysitters or daycare workers, these are loving moms who are already taking care of their own kid(s) and want to become childcare providers..
For anyone looking for reliable, flexible and quality childcare, Caribou is here. After all, who knows more about taking care of children than moms?
Caribou is currently available in the Phoenix region, with plans to expand to new cities in 2022.
