Myujiamu (Myu-Si-Amu) out to bridge the world of art to the world of fashion

Myujiamu is a startup that seeks to change the narrative and give creatives the recognition they deserve through a disruptive platform that sees a new vision for fashion.

Myujiamu is a disruptive luxury fashion brand that aims to change the world of art forever by bringing a platform for artists to be valued and represented through high-end fashion and means to pay back its clients.

As a platform for artists that presents a new vision for fashion, Myujiamu searches for creatives who have taken risks and believe in themselves – those with a tremendous amount of talent and passion for what they do.

“We want to use fashion as an extension of the art to create products that hold actual value,” a representative of Myujiamu said in a statement.

The Myujiamu team supports a chosen artist by buying the art they have produced and assigns the task to its fashion design team to create high-end limited edition fashion that serves as an extension of the purchased art.

As a brand that aims to bridge the world of art to the world of fashion, Myujiamu gives people limited edition clothing that holds a share of the art that Myujiamu owns, the same way the US dollar was backed by gold, their fashion collection will be backed by art.

“We provide limited edition items that are stylish and serve as an investment. The team believes in creating a win-win situation, benefitting not only us and the artist but also the end client that has put their trust in us,” the representative added.

The startup brand has announced its first project with Almudena Angoso, an artist from Spain currently living in Dubai.

Almudena, who studied Art in Barcelona, then moved to Menorca island (Spain), where she established her first art studio for six years, said art has always been a part of her life.

“I make art because this is my way of life – painting. With it, I talk about my paradigms as human beings, about hopes, fears, illusions, and sadness – all through portraits of people from many different cultures representing that we are all part of the same soul,” Almudena said in an interview.

Almudena traveled to Africa, India, and other parts of Asia. She works with realism and expression in her portraits, and her artworks are part of what she calls “portraits of the soul. “

She arrived in Dubai two years ago, where she has established her second art studio working for art exhibitions, commissions, and above everything, her passion.

Almudena’s painting named “Unfair” represents underprivileged kids globally, stripped from all opportunity by default purely because of the place they were born in.

Inspired by the Netflix show “Beasts of no nation,” Almudena aims to send a message that the issues called “first world problems” are incomparable to the realities of many.

“The child in the painting is a reminder to myself never to be selfish and complain about everyday issues we call first world problems,” Almudena explains.
